aha, this map covers a much larger area than Uzin's.  Just two days ago I was thinking about 1939 Poland so what a coincidence to see this new map!  Thank you for taking on this project as everyone knows it is a much needed missing map.  We already have the great Polish planes to go with it!

Maro,

this is an EXCELLENT idea. Hope you find time and strength to finish it! Such a big map on this important can be used in many campaigns: 1939, 1941, 1944-45.

I second Prossers idea: use many grass airfields! In 1939 the Polish Airforce used mostly small, grassy strips, and avoided the big aerodromes, which meant that they suffered very small losses on the ground.

Thanks for agreeing to make the airfields mostly grass, Maro. This map will be fantastic when you finish it.

cheers

Thanks for the support Poltava. During WWI, much of Poland was owned by Russia. So Polish pilots would have started off flying for the Czar. Then maybe the Bolsheviks, Whites, or Poand.

cheers

This is the map I will really love to see completed. Not only for 1939 campaign (finally we will be able to use those PZL11 and 23) but also for 1944 soviet offensive too!. Do you need help?

Uzin - your frames show better terrain of Poland from '39. There was more air battles.

Let us not forget that Poland in 1939 looked quite different from now:

Königsberg was part of Poland for about one year, when the Prussian Confederation rebelled against the Teutonic Knights in 1454 :) It was German from then on, and Russian after 1945.

More air battles in the Uzin green square map?
