Rector, it seems to me that about Belarus map You are not right. Today rivers on Belarus are quite different than before 1945. There were a lot of rivers, swamps and watercourses. For example Pinsk region was called in Polish "Pinsk Marshes" and even "Pinsk Sea". Polish Navy had there special riverine flotilla (monitors and auxiliary ships), and seaplanes (Schreck FBA, then Lublins R.XIII for some time). To get to some places it was possible using only water transport (see Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart's memoirs - "Happy Odyssey"). After 1945, when region was incorporated into USSR, some large land improvements (drain) works were started (about 1960'). And now region has completely different look (less rivers, and some negative consequences for natural environment).

Here is Sandomierz airfield , between the river and the  old arm of river - narrowest one possible in Il2:

Remember that on map_T.tga there is one pixel equal to 200 meters of real terrain, so less than one pixel we cannot draw.

Hi Uzin,

is it possible to rise elevation of Sandomierz? City is located on the hill, not on the plain (an old town, which hasn't changed too much from times of II world war):

(high water 2010, on the river bank - center of the photo - You can see Sandomierz Castle)

Best regards,

O.K. that is the smallest river can be 200 meters wide. Meanwhile, the flow through the Lublin Ciemi?ga and the spring recruiting Bystrica water does not even have a quarter of the width. I do not know whether in this situation it would be better to restrict ourselves to a few major rivers np.Sanu, Vistula, Bug, Hog - in eastern Poland. I do not know what colleagues say?
I do not mean the geographical area of the map only Belarus Belarus 05 It also includes a piece of Polish including my old town. My favorite river flows through is about 7 mtr wide and about 0.5 at the deepest point while in our game looks like this

My brother - a lover of warships would be extremely happy to see our river the parade ..

@ls:
Thanks for info, I shall try to rise it a bit, and place there a placeholder for the Sandomierz castle, until anybody will create it into Ul2. As for the implementation of the city itself, unfortunately there is not more free space in the texture list in load.ini file available, so that only generic textures are there applied.

@ Rector:
I shall try to do my best, see my trial to make narrowest river in Il2 in the thread here:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=40861.0

As for your  :
"I do not know whether in this situation it would be better to restrict ourselves to a few major rivers np.Sanu, Vistula, Bug, Hog - in eastern Poland. I do not know what colleagues say? "
I would also be curious what is the meaning of the virtual pilots community ?
And how the city without the river there existing would look ? Even small river  is an impotrant landmark, isnt it ?
A complete list of  rivers which you consider necessary and sufficient to be included would be helpful on that ocasion.

EDIT:
Lublin was made according to the map you kindly supplied above in the post no.183 on page 16 of this thread, within limitations of Il-2 engine, I think. No info on river width is there available.

@Rector:
In the thread above I tested narrowest rivers possible in Il-2.
Please, make a choice which version of river would you prefer to have in Lublin.
Your opinion is expected with best regards.

Hi, ls,
here is first trial of Sandomierz castle elevation.
Perhaps you would give some proposal as for this castle? Namely, the "Kurza Stopka" (Hen's Foot) ?

Smallest possible river would be 50m wide, because scale of Map_c = 1:50.

The issue is that guys who have tried 1 pixel wide rivers report that the river is produced in the game and in FMB as a broken river and not a consistent, continuous river - i.e. it renders itself as pools and fragments and not as a continuous stream.

I have never tried to do anything less than a 2 pixel river and I draw it, then blur it and then write a 1 pixel wide series of dots in the middle of the river and blur everything again to ensure that the river is continuous. That works fine.

It may be possible to do a 1 pixel river and just write over the river a couple of times to ensure that the river is continuous. It is possible that the "break ups" simply result from blurring producing spots where the value is greater than 127 RGB along the length of the river. I have never experimented with this.

......................................

After I posted this, I read the thread by Uzin and Uuflaake which checked out exactly this type of experiment and came up with valuable stuff to look at. Thanks to those guys!

Hill is very nice (but maybe to change texture on it - for example something like a Midland3 in Your Belarus map?), on nearest weekend I'll try to make a proposal - compilation of objects for Sandomierz Castle.
By the way, as I remember, "Kurza Stopka" (Hen's Foot) is the Polish name of that part of the Wawel Castle in Krakow:

Greetings,

I think that satisfactory solution of the problem of ditches, at least at the walls of fortresses, was found by creating and using ditches as new objects. Example of this solution is my WIP Deblin:

Ditches objects were created in the same way as white circles on Polish airfields, as described earlier in this thread.
