Hi, folks,
short report on progress:

1. creating and placing textures of the cities in Poland, adjusting  to approx. shape  of the city borders and size of the area, ordered by today's population , made 23 cities beginning with the largest one. It may be considered the prep state to autopop, even if not yet decided to use this technique because of fear of too large static. ini file.

2. preliminary getting acknowledged with the state of airfields in 1939 Poland .
Question one: I think all the fields in Poland were grass ones in 1939 ?
And  question two: how were the rules of placing and size of white airfield's names in a circle, as shown e.g. in the picture of Krosno airfield, please ? (See Reply #87 above in this thread.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Uzin,

1. Yes, all Polish airfields had grass stripes before 1939, only on bigger airfields there were sometimes concrete plates in front of hangars and buildings.
2. I don't know exactly rules concerning size of white airfield's names in a circle. As seen in preserved photos, it was rather big, and usually located in center of airfield.
Here example from Krakow-Rakowice:

Some more examples of placing airfield's names You can see here - "Atlas lotnisk polskich 1933" (Book of maps of Polish airfields 1933)

Probably problem with long lasting opening time of this pdf file is effect of its size and opening it via Internet.
Only solution is to save this file on Your hard drive (file open then a little quicker).
