seems thats why the A-10 is so unique.

378 holes in the airplane, 50 holes in ordnance,
right engine 45 holes, left engine 15...
and she held together and made it home. ???

stunning.

Which is the loudest jet?

I was at this airshow and after a while one of that guys from the video just passed really close above the public and used the afterburner, many of the people there ducked, hahaha  :D. One thing I noticed about these Tumanski R-13-100 engines was that the noise of the afterburner when the plane passed the crowd and it was pretty far away was many times more powerful than the sound of the normal engine when the plane is just above the crowd.

Here is the afterburner footage from that day. Exactly at 00:48 minute but watch all if you want  :D

Hey Bravo,

I got to meet the A-10 Pilot that blasted the MiL-8 with the Avenger in Desert Storm 1
He said "The sidewinder wouldn't get a good lock, so I hosed him."

Plus here in Michigan they moved the A-10 squadron from Battle Creek to Selfridge ANG, they come up to Grayling bomb range and do thier thing then stop off in Alpena to Refuel. Then they fly right over Lake Huron on the way home. Usally passing over Harrisville and Us here in Oscoda. Although somtimes they like to do a simulated bombing run on our planes here at Wurtsmith. they come screaming right down the runway or ramp (where our planes are parked) and then climb out dumping flares.

It's a blast to see.

Are you talking about Mark Swain who shot down a helicopter with his GAU 8 in Iraq during Desert Storm, I built his Helmet, before he was deployed to the Deset for the Show down against Saddam's best. He's a cool dude.

If you can talk to any A-10 Pilot from the Michigan ANG ask them if they ever heard of BigFoot, or Foot, from the 47TH TFS the Helmet Builder, I was the best Fighter pilot Helmet Builder in the Air Force.
