Nice forests mr. titanic! Would that be a mod that replaces stock forests with a lot of trees?

You can assign a .tree file to any texture as long as it has _fields in its name, but a dense placement texture like that generates continous console errors. It only works in OpenGL with forest=3 conf.ini setting, hence its not a perfect solution to replace stock forests, because DirectX users would see nothing.

Is that done in load.ini file? Wasn`t there a mod that replaces forest textures with trees somewhere? I remember seeing it a long time ago, old AAA maybe...

You have to do it in the load.ini via the textures who are assigned to trees and via an extra tree.tga texture file, showing the underlying texture where trees are placed. Check it on e.g. The South Vietnam maps or cyberolas' Smolensk.
It is rather advanced modding, but you can exploit existing tree.tga files.
The Direct X argument is valid, even though I would advise any gent who is theoretically able to run IL-2 in Perfect Mode to do so, much better for maps, if your PC can handle it.
Well, some gents prefer Direct X for other reasons as well.

...but my opinion...anyone whose PC allows him to run the game on Open GL should do so, because only then you are in perfect mode for maps. ;)

I meant that onboard graphics and certain laptop cards can only run IL-2 in DirectX so I would not adopt the above mentioned tree solution as the only trees on the map plus their popup distance is only ~3km.
