Replacing blue sky is the easiest things to do, its the same concept as the use of blue box technique in filmmaking.



What I'm doing is using the Photoshop Color range selection function with the color picker as shown in the video above, as a result I get a selection which I can apply as a mask on a layer set. If I put any cloud image into this layer set only those parts will be visible where the original picture had blue color tones. This process takes one or two minutes per image which includes the application of a hdr photo filter called Photomatrix Pro, that is whatgives the image its final contrast.
