Well this one, 53> has a bit of a strange history, it didn't see combat at all and was used as an instructional airframe. Whites 57, 61, 81 and the chevrons were used for dogfight training as well as RVD duties. This particular aircraft was Werk Num 2200, which according to history was given to JV44 and became the mysterious ''Red 2'' as part of the Me-262 defense unit. I haven't read any accounts of encounters in dogfights by these aircraft...But really as you said it went nuts in the last days of the Luftwaffe. There was no logic at all!

Time for some Leningrad screenshots with red stars and I-16s:

Kolpino, reworked textures.

Sablino/Ulyanovka.

Izhorskiye Zavody, with... a plane without red stars...!
