The other Yak fighters didn't have radiocompass, or they had it somewhere else? I found strange the transparent panel actually, not the antenna. This antenna couldn't operate under normal fuselage cover (metal, plywood, fabric)?

It has to be some nonelectric material - plexiglass or composite (or plywood)

Can't get this a/c to load in QMB with just 'Default (3xB-20)' load  and 'Empty' in 4.12 with 'Engine-Mod with Countermeasures' or ' with Westerns patch'

hi to all! i think i too have a problem with yak-9P speed, as Uzin wrote... which was the maximum speed for this plane?

According to Yefim Gordon's book on Yaks, the 9P had a sea level max speed of 590 km/h, and a max speed of 660 km/m at 5000 m.
Another interesting bit of info, it was slower because of the increase in max fuel and gross weight but the increase gave it an operational range of 1130 km, which is greater than WWII versions.
It was slower in a climb compared to the 9U because of the extra weight and new guidelines restricting the engine RPM usage to a below 3000 combat setting.
But the 9P had a better dive speed of 720 km/h, and could pull more Gs in a pull up.

Hi Stefan,

I experience strange behaviour with this mod.  When I try to operate the gear, only the main ones work.  The tail wheel does not extend or retract.  When starting from the ground the tail wheel will not retract, and when starting in flight it won't extend.  I am not sure if it is my own setup or if this is unique to this mod.  Would you know if there is a fix for it?

Great Mod!  Thanks so much for sharing!

Curtissfan.

This excellent mod of Karabas-Barabas/Skvorets from Aviaskins is really needed so much for Korean missions and and flies flawlessly in 4.12.

This issue is solved by refitting the correct motor and correcting the fm.

alright guys, thanks to Vasya, we got a correctly working Yak-9P now too for BAT, complete with correct gear animations;
all you need is the original download from StefanSG and one provided by Vasia and linked above;
from Vasya´s files, you just need the FM and the classfile 19CCD68615866B26
copy those into the folder from the StefanSG download and have the classfile overwrite the original one;
and whopety, you have a Yak-9P with correctly working gears and a way better FM with an engine that does not overheat nearly immediately;
the only thing missing is an open canopy mod as far as I could see, but I was too lazy to get that to run as well, Vasya´s download surely would provide this as well;

maybe tomorrow....

The P made me trouble, if you get this done is cool, as this was a mayor problem I had. I tinkered so much,
that I forgot how I built that up, hence can't ell where to pick. There where many FM versions and only one working in BAT.

Open Canopies, easy,
In the BAT Section I explained the Yak no Open Canopy problem, the Trick is all the Files you find here, load atop FM/Air Classes,
search for the BAT Killer classes, just to be sure. To really open all, even P, download every one, And all Yaks open their Hoods.

0_OpenCanop_Yak-3und9

0_OpenCanop_Yak-7
0_OpenCanop_Yak-9
0_OpenCanop_Yak-9D
0_OpenCanop_Yak-9T
0_OpenCanop_Yak-9U

Download each File, one is hidden under simply named Yak, a 9 version you need too. So be aware to load everything and check.

Best wishes

I got the 9P opening canopy to work yesterday already...I want to get the other ones working too, it's relatively easy (it was for the 9P at least) but I need to check which classfiles are necessary for the various subtypes....

There is a link to a separate mod of late Yak's.
