This seems strange, because you guys have the same files that I have in my DBW-410 game. My game is heavily modded too.
My gliders are showing up as static-objects with no problems and I have many thousands of object-toys inside there.
Perhaps in your game, there must be a conflict with some other mod?
I am not sure what or which mod. These are simple static airplanes. .
Try this...
follow this path ---> C:\_______\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#DBW(
or your mods folder)\MapMods\3do\Buildings\Static_planes\HorsaRAF1
and inside that "HorsaRAF1" folder
Put a "-" (minus sign) in front of the files and also the TGA skin... (that way the game will not read those files)

So the game ONLY reads the first skin and the files needed, and it will also read only One damage skin and its needed file.
So , only 2 skins will be used.
Give it a try and see if this first Glider in the collection shows up in your game-map.
The original mod gliders only came with One Skin and One damage skin , both skins in 1024x1024 size.
I have added an extra 2 sets of skins for each version so as to see them on the maps from very far away.
You CAN ERASE them if you wish, no problem. It will not affect the model.
BUT I have noticed, that without these 2 extra skins they usually disappear too quickly like the houses do when flying from far
away at a very high altitude, and then pop up on the map when you get closer to them.
Perhaps this might be interfering with something , or some other mod, in your personal game.
I cannot understand why its not showing up in your game.
In this screenshot below I actually have about 25 Horsa Gliders placed on my map, they are all very close to each other,
and they are all showing up very nice.
