F-4 Phantom + F-86 Sabre cockpit
« on: August 09, 2013, 01:14:43 PM »

The F-4 Phantom can use the F-9 Panther cockpit (thanks BT~wasted) but it is very difficult, very difficult,  flying down to deck. The F-86 Sabre cockpit gives a slightly better view forward and is, in my opinion, one of the best cockpits in the game.

Would someone please hook up Freddy's magnificant F-86 Sabre cockpit to S3's superb F-4?

The F-4 currently uses the F-4 cockpit. Not sure what version you are running.

@Anto - I guess I didn't make it clear. I requested a cockpit with working gauges. Thanks anyway.

My version of the F-4 only has inert, non-moving, instrumentation in cockpit. I downloaded the first version of the Phantom over a year ago and have waited for a functioning cockpit ever since (IIRC someone was working on it). I got my latest F-4 from here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21682.0.html.

If I've missed the full working cockpit for the F-4 Phantom would someone please advise me? Otherwise, Freddy's F-86 Sabre cockpit working with S3's F-4 Phantom would be really good.

Ah okay thanks for clarifying. Indeed the existing F-4 cockpit is not animated and there was a version made with the F-9 cockpit to fill in. Not sure if there is anyone currently still working on it.

Hi Karla! :)
I use the cockpit  Meteor F-4 (from Ranwers) for Phantom II, unnecessarily there 2 engine. Tools work by 95%. But I did not test the landing (take-off) on the deck. If it is interested, it can be accommodated on a WIP section.

 I want to warn in advance - the cockpit is not quite in the right place and the difficulties on take-off and landing can be, too.
Regards ;)

@Anto thanks for responding.

@Bison_M the Meteor looks quite good but I'll stay with the F-9 Panther. (I fly the F-86 Sabre sometimes just for the detail in the cockpit). I guess everyone that's good at jet cockpits are involved with the F/A-18 Hornet just now anyway. Thanks.

Really? Last time I checked only me working on the Cockpit 3d and java and SAS~Malone on the textures  :P

I plan for a new F-4 cockpit in the future too but only after the F-18 is finished.  :)
