Campaigns & 4.12 ~SOLVED
« on: August 18, 2013, 07:56:43 AM »

Salute Folks

Got a anoying problem with some static Campaigns and the 4.12 Patch & ModAct 5.2

I´ve got most of my modded stuff from HSFX&DBW etc over to Modact 5.2 and the very most Campaigns are working good. But I can´t get the UP Campaigns to work. They wont show up in the Campaign selection screen.! I think it has something to do with the structure of the Mis. and the Properties files, but I can´t see any diffrence between a UP Campaign an the HSFX or the DBW ones.  ???

Here´s a good example: Ikkitosen - the Sadaaki Akamatsu story

Maybe one of the best scripted campaigns ever, and I want it to play under 4.12 ..but,yea it´s not possible at the moment.

Please, can somebody show me what to,or what I have to change in the Campaign structure to get myself happy again.. :D

Best regards

When I was converting HSFX campaign for DBW the first thing I did was to open the mission in FMB and then just press save.
It will discard the objects, etc which are not available in your game version.

I´m a bit sad,208 views on this topic,and only a single respond?

We have so many talented Campaign builders here around and nobody can tell me how to convert a UP Campaign into Modact 5.2 ?   ??? :-[

which campaign folder did you save the campaign into?  I do not have the specific campaign noted, however I have tried a few old campaigns and they all are seen in the career choice screens and I can load up with no issues except for exploding planes where applicable.  Only thing I do notice is that the mission briefing panel is empty/blank for each of these campaigns.  I tried Cape Gloucester  and  hokushinUP3.

Perhaps you can try placing the campaign folder into a different country directory?

Hi Wind

To try the Campaign in a different country folder was my first intention, but with no better result. The second idea was the Forgotten countrys Mod,maybe this "blocks" the campaign from showing up in the career screen, but again,no change.
This becomes a mystery and a challenge in the same time for me  :P

Wind, please download those Ikkitosen Campaign from the link I posted above.Try it by yourself and let me know your results.

For the empty/blank Briefing screen: Storebror told me a simple solution for this. Delete the Appendix at the Properties files.

For example: My Campaign_ru to My Campaign and the Briefing text should appear again.  ;)

Cheers

Hi don't shoot me on this, just checking it's not a 'space' character that's got into the folder name for the campaign. They won't show in-game if there are spaces in the name. I'm sure you already knew and if it works in another install it's not that...

Thanks marcost

No! Sorry..the candidate has 0 points!  :P :D

The campaign Folder reads: IkkitiosenUP3

Edit: I dropped Poltava a PM. Maybe he knows a solution for this "Special" problem.

I will have a look at it. AFAIK there is no difference between DBW & UP campaigns, but the big difference between unmodded and unmodded IL-2 is - quite correctly - that "_ru" appendix at the Properties files, but that just relates to the briefings.

Have you checked that the campaigns in question have the appropriate "info" file? It is this very file that regulates what can be seen in the list of campaigns.

Poltava..you are Genius!  ;)

The Appendix at the end of the "info" file do the Trick. Remove it,and ModAct 5.2 can read the Campaign.

Thank you 100 Times Guys!

Cheers with a cold Beer  ;)
