Hello guys, well, I downloaded the plain vanilla DBW 1.71 and I tried to follow your instructions.
I put inside plain vanilla #DBW folder the content of the 4 "SCW mod-pack/jsgme/IL-2 SCW mod pack for DBW/#DBW" folders.
Files of Mission folders in the relative mission folder of IL-2 1946 main root.
Files of paintschemes as above; files of samples folder as above and so on. Then I re-enabled by jsgme but the result is always the same: loading crashes at 70% and logfile also report the same as previous.

Ok, white flag for me, is not mandatory I have SCW in my IL-2, and on the other hand I can not put stress on you all the time.

A big thank for all your help!!  :) :)

I hope will be near future a single mod-pack for SCW. Many congratulations again for the wonderful job for this air war period.

Ciao!

Marco

And you did put the SCW pack into the JSGME-folder?

good question Poltava!

Marco, using the selector, there is no need for the JSGME!!!
you create a #SCW folder for example, unzip the SCW files directly into that folder, let the packs overwrite each other in sequence if requested and then select SCW from the Selector (which you need to set up using the il2fb.ini)
that should then start the SCW "partition" of your install!
it is as easy as that :)
setting up the selector takes maybe 5 minutes and unzipping and copying another 5 to 10 mins;
so in 15 mins you should be up and running :)

Hello mates the last news about SCW are as follow:
Yesterday I downloaded the update pack 3 again and ship La Masa, then I tried to reinstall all, starting from a plain vanilla dbw folder, La Masa was obiuvsly installed already...
Then I tried to re-enable all by jsgme but as usual ctd crashed at 70%...

And you did put the SCW pack into the JSGME-folder?

Absolutely Yes Poltava... :)

I also tried to activate it by selector, as Phil suggested. In this case too I started from a plain vanilla dbw till update pack 3; I tried to set il2fb.ini also but when I try to select #SCW folder by selector, it doesn't appear on selector...?... Surely I wrong the setting up, but I don't know how to do (I don't know the correct syntax, I tried to copy & paste the previous lines, modifing them, next time I report which I wrote in il2fb.ini).

So I delete all and I reinstall all finishing at update pack 2, by jsgme. All works fine....as usual with update pack 2... By now I keep everithing so...

Phil if you tell me the correct syntax for il2fb.ini I will try again even this system  :)

Many thanks for your help!

Hello Marco!

ok, first of all I start with a screenie of how my main game folder looks with respect to the different addon modpacks:

the marked one with the red circle around it is my SCW folder....

this is then, how the SCW folder looks inside; I added some eyecandy mods but by and large, this is the SCW folder as it should look after extracting all three packs...

finally, this is how my il2fb.ini looks like, its not the complete one but the important parts....
you will need to adjust yours with regard to the modpacks you use if you want to have it look clean and not contain unnecessary stuff;
but as long as you leave your folder structure like in my example, it will work too, even if you do not have 1916 or the TFM mod up and running...

;

one final word of caution; the RAM size might be too big for your rig; I am running a quite good spec rig with a very good GPU so if you do not get the game to run with RAM Size=1024 try 512 or even something lower instead...game will still look great and run good :)

hope this all helps
cheers

Hi Phil, I checked my Il2fb.ini and it is quite different from your:

Quote
; Startup Settings for the SAS / UltraPack IL-2 1946 Game Launcher
[Settings]

; Mod Type Setting:
;
; 0 = No Mods, Stock IL-2 1946 Server
; 1 = "Classic" Mod Style, i.e. modded files reside in "FILES" and "MODS" folder
; 2 = SAS Modact 3.x Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#SAS" folder
; 3 = UltraPack 3.x Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#UP#" folder
; 4 = Dark Blue World Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#DBW" folder
; 5 = Dark Blue World 1916 Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#DBW_1916" folder
; 6 = Spanish Civil War Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#DBW_SCW" folder
;
; default setting: 0
ModType=4

; Ram Size Setting in Megabytes.
; Be careful not to select too big size here.
; Above 512MB is risky.
; Above 1024MB is critical.
; Above 1800MB will most likely cause startup errors.
;
; default setting: 256
RamSize=512

; Expert Mode Setting
; With Expert Mode enabled, the selector offers more setting options than
; than with default setting
;
; default setting: 0 (Expert Mode disabled)
ExpertMode=0

; Cached File Lists setting
; When this setting is enabled, IL-2 on startup does not scan the modded files
; folder anymore, but uses a filelist cache file for this folder if it exists.
; The filename for this cache file is "~wrapper.cache".
; Every time when you change something inside your modded files folder, you
; have to wipe this file for the game to recreate it with updated contents.
;
; default setting: 0 (Cached File Lists disabled)
UseCachedFileLists=0

; Multiple Instances setting
; Usually you can run only one single IL-2 instance at a time.
; When you enable this setting, you can run IL-2 multiple times in parallel.
; This is particularly useful for developing and debugging tasks.
;
; default setting: 0 (Multiple Instances disabled)
MultipleInstances=0

; Exit With IL-2 setting
; When enabled, IL-2 selector will quit when you exit the game.
; When disabled, you'll get back to the selector when you exit the game, in
; case you started it through the selector.
;
; default setting: 0 (Exit With IL-2 disabled)
ExitWithIL2=0

; The following section holds additional parameters for the JVM,
; one parameter per line. Check Java 2 SE documents for applicable parameters.
[JVM]

The line: "6 = Spanish Civil War Modded game, i.e. modded files reside in "#DBW_SCW" folder" is new, I tried to write it but it doesn't work with selector.

This is my SCW folder location in IL-2 main root:

...and this the content of SCW folder:

I hope this is useful for you for help me, without misunderstandings...

Many thanks! Ciao!

Hello Marko!

which selector version do you use?
the new 3.1 or the older 2.3 version?

Hi Phil, I have selector version 2.2.2. Your Il2fb.ini works with selector 3.1?

Ciao!
