As Singue says Sundays are reserved for the Paella, but in winter when it is too cold, my favorite food is cooked.

A good sunday for me is suasage, bisquits and gravy for breakfast. Then go out to my BBQ grill and slow cook a brisket over a low fire of mesquite wood all day and have it for dinner. No lunch so I'm good and hungry by dinner time. :)

Back in the Commonwealth, SAS~Bombsaway, we call biscuits, scones. They're served with butter and jam, or cream. They can be made with butter, or cheese. That's my favorite kind of scone. Biscuits are what we call cookies. Isn't English wonderful?

cheers

I would love to try English food but you can keep the spotted dick. :) It just sounds so wrong. :)

Methinks there is nothing more sublime than a (properly aged, of course) Filet Mignon seared in butter then broiled to a perfect medium rare in a 500 degree oven. The only appropriate follow up is a glass of Courvoisier and an optional big stinky cigar. The whole meal should of course be served by a very hot waitress.

That's easier than you think, SAS~Bombsaway. Next time you make hotcakes, call them 'pikelets'. Serve with butter and jam.
Next time you make biscuits, call them 'scones'. Serve with butter and jam, or jam and cream. Raspberry, or strawberry jam is best.
If you can get some Irish bacon, you'll have English/NZ bacon and eggs. Finally, just call your next lot of 'fries' chips.

cheers

I love to cook and find that I have many favourites - also depends on the season. Cold winter months call for home made stews with chicken, chorizo or beef with shallots - served with dumplings (most kinds). Roasted dinner is another fave and being English, it would be beef but equally a crown of lamb is hard to beat served with roasted potatoes and onions. Deep fried cod/haddock served with thick cut chips (fries) and served with mushy peas is an amazing taste of the British seaside.

All that said, I love Indian, Italian, Spanish and Greek foods... my problem I guess. In fact, my list is too long to post! :)
