Unlimited ammo? Did you use outside view while shooting. I think you started the shooting way to early. Never start until the plane fill your sight. During BOB the polish pilots once let out in the fight, used to slow polish aircraft did not fire until the plain filled the windshield. Very successful strategy, they was really efficient

Yes, fuel and ammo unlimited on this run and NO ammo on the enemy aircraft. This is a FRAPS recording of the recorded track from the game which I played back over and over and over to get my preferred shots of stuff. I never go outside cockpit view during the actual flight, nor do I use icons. I use FaceTrackNoIR when flying a mission, and PAL Visual Mod for recording. (Can't run the two together as it crashes the game if you try)

Realism settings are not QUITE full, but very very close to it. The more familiar and proficient with the plane I become the harder I make the settings in game & mission.

And yes, in several instances I was firing far too soon for it to be effective, but how else does one gauge the best convergence for his style of flying and fighting if not by firing from different ranges and observing effect? :)

As you can see from a few of the scenes, I do like to drive up close on the 6 of the target whenever possible.

concvergence is overrated in american planes.
say you are flying a 109G 1x202x13mm then convergence IS important because your small, concentrated firepower needs to get where it needs to.

First thing i noticed was around  1:00 to 1:03 - wasting a lot of ammo.

P-40 C has six guns, yours has two different gun types and they are located in 3 different spots.
using convergence to get the Bullets on target is like shooting a .303s held in each hand, and shooting a.50 off the top of your head.
... nischt possibeul.

The yanks use shotguns a lot. Your P-40 is a Flying shotgun. as is a Mustang, a Thud...
do not approach from behind, with the target having a small area.
come in from below, and pull the trigger when you can not miss - only then will the 4x.303s do the job.
sniping with a shotgun aint fun. Ram the barrel down his nose exhaust pipe before even thinking of the trigger.

check out around 0:40... you banked left and had the reflex to stay way below them, keep them well visible in the sunlight.
but you didnt... you were greedy to get close - and stayed in their fire arc. :(

at 1.17, after the first pass you dove - out of range. good.
but then popped up and seemed to have resumed to fire from their  6.

1.26 , yea, that's more like it. distance is good, now the approach angle...
a bit nervous? knowing the cameras are rolling?

5.25: much better i thnk, but the camera does not let me see vthe Kate. still think you did good.

keep it up!

2nd Sortie. Same mission. Each sequence is first shown from cockpit view, then followed by an external view of the preceding action. (The taxiing sequence at the beginning is approximately 2:15 in length)
