New SM-79 (export version)
« on: September 13, 2013, 10:10:08 AM »

In 1938 the Iraqi Air Force purchased four Savoia-Marchetti SM.79B bombers. They were all destroyed during the anti-British uprising in Iraq in May 1941.

The Italians had had some success exporting the Savoia-Marchetti SM.79B and attempted to sell the aircraft to Argentina. Only one aircraft was acquired and this was test flown in Argentine markings.

PLEASE - provide some specs and useful information on the aircraft.
saying things like 'it would be nice' are not sufficient for the request thread - i am sure i have told you this before, but regardless, i will not say it again.

anybody can post up a picture or two and say 'it would be nice'.
this, you are welcome to do in the lounge, but, if you want to make a proper request in this section, you MUST provide some technical info, specifications, and plan views, if possible.
i'll give you some time to change your request to conform better to the request guidelines, failing which i will remove this thread.

it's quite fine to say 'it would be nice', but in this section you NEED to back it up with some cold, hard facts of production, specifications, etc ;)

Thanks Bogdan! Could you find info on Romanian produced bombs used by Romanian Air Force  in the 1941 campaign - more specifically the 225 kg, 100kg and 50 kg Romanian produced bombs and the 9kg bomb (Romanian produced? - the 12kg was a locally produced version of the PuW 12kg) - dimensions would be especially useful (and of course drawings)
(I have a photo of semi open models of these bombs exposed at Bucharest Air Museum but it's difficult to recreate them from this single photo)
