Been so looking forward to this I hate being the bearer of duff news, but having spent 5 hours d/ling HSFX 7 and installed over a clean copy of 4.12.1, with only HSFX History Mod activated in the JGSME I get a 5% CTD - I know this means a missing or (corrupt?) SFS file, but before I spend another 5 hours in purgatory performing a re-download, does anyone else confirm this?

Game runs fine as stock 4.12.1 with no modes enabled btw, so it ain't an issue with the vanilla install.

I have the same problem 5% CTD and stock 4.12.1 runs fine. Reinstalled HSFX 7  3 times but still the same and I downloaded HSFX 7 a second time installed it again and 5% CTD.

currently away from my crate at home and hoping that downloading the torrent has finished when I get home to have a look myself then, but....
have you guys looked into the .rc file if all sfs files are correctly referenced there?

The Installer is not copying the two fb_hfxsounds.sfs  &  fb_hfxsounds.sfs   files into the ClientPC install.

We have updated the Installer and the torrent Since then

Delete the old torrent from your torrent client (but not the already downloaded contents).
Get the new torrent from the download thread, first post.

The new torrent will file check what you have and you have most of it, and just update the necessary parts of the Installer for you.


(you can use the two above SFS files from HSFX v6.0  and it will get it working  ..but its not optimum as there are a few sound improvements in above since then)

Been so looking forward to this too. I commented out the sound.sfs for now, and it loads.. 

However, anyone else that also gets russian text in the mission info?

Edit: I installed hsfx7 over a vanilla 4.12.1 installation.

We have updated the installer and corrected the problem but it will take us a few hours to reset everything etc and make it avaialbel again.

I have removed the torrent file from the link temporarily.

If you are already downloading, you can carry on + you will need to get the two missing SFS files....

But if you havn't got very far, its worth cancelling and waiting for the new one I would think.

If you copy the fb_hfxsounds.sfs and fb_hfxsounds01.sfs from HSFX 6.017 to your new HSFX 7, that works as a temporary fix - until we get the updated ones.  It gets you flying - and what wonderful flying it is.  Thanks CharlieChap and all for the hard work, BTW!

right after I solved the 5% CTD I have a 60% CTD What's wrong?
