If your aircraft is sliding on the deck it's because you don't have 'chocks in'.  The chocks pin you to the deck until you release them ("chocks out").

Only to be sure, you are following this process:

Engine started -> chocks off -> power to 35% to start to move -> extend wings -> flaps to take off -> power to 0 (otherwise you will be swimming in a couple of seconds) -> break where the catapult is (more or less) -> chocks on -> power to 100% -> chocks off -> when you are in the air landing gear in and flaps to 0 and if the engine is overheated power to 80%.

If the plane is slipping when you are in the way to the catapult try to compensate with rudder.

Ah!! after landing break and "chocks in" again. The ship is moving all the time and is better to have everything fixed.  ;)

PD: As usual tomoose was faster than me ??? :)

Ivo;
if auto pilot is working then there must be something wrong with either your joystick or the keys you have assigned for the "chocks" command.
If you can't control the movement of the plane on the deck it must be your stick or keys.

Does your joystick work OK?  Is it OK with a land-based plane?
Do your chocks work on a land-based runway?  They should work the same whether it is on a carrier or on a normal runway.
If you put chocks on when you are on a concrete runway then your plane should not move when you apply throttle (or will only move very slightly).
Try a land-based runway just to verify that you have your keyboard etc assigned properly.
