Yes, Super Duck, this is the first bit like an amphibian.)) Alpha amphibian.

Standing on the ground on the float can be released chassis by pressing  air brake and take off would be more convenient.
Starting with a water landing gear is not necessary.
But the AI ??do not know how, this is a significant drawback..

I'm not sure but is the center of gravity for a plane the the FM? If so could someone look at this planes FM and see if the bouncing on water start could be fixed and when landing in water, it will nose in a little too easy. Other than those two things this plane is perfect. :)

Are you using the J2F-Duck or the J2F-DuckS? Use the J2F-DuckS (Super Duck) version. It does not spawn with the gear down so you'll have to lower the gear before you try and take off on dry land. The Duck landing gear is mapped to the airbrake so lower your airbrake and the gear lowers instead. If you haven't already assigned a key to the airbrake you'll have to do that before this will work. Now take off, raise the gear and go find some water to land on. I don't use flaps and I set it down at around 60-70 mph. Keep the nose up and it won't bounce or nosedive in. The Duck doesn't like hitting the water too fast so watch your landing speed. Anything over 80 mph it will do some serious bouncing usually with a bad ending. Now go have fun.

It's easy now Grumpy. Go to the bottom of the first post of this thread and download both the Grumman J2F-Duck folder and the Wing fix update located right under it.

The readme.txt is dated and doesn't mention the new stuff, but the Duck_README.txt has the information you'll need to add to your air.ini so don't forget to do that. Also, the 4.09 version is the default installed so if you're running 4.10 you'll have to copy everything in the fm410 folder to the main one and overwrite the existing files to convert it to 4.10.

Don't forget to apply the wing fix update and you have the latest version available. Fly the J2F-DuckS, it has all the latest stuff. That's it, piece of cake.

4.12, 5.3
Well alright! Now she works. Gear lowers with the regular L/G key. I can takeoff from land or sea. However, the L/G must be down to T/O or land on land or water. Now where do ya get that beautiful pre-war skin?
BTW. Thank you very much!

Use the J2F-DuckS and you don't need gear down in the water.
