I stumbled across this when poking around in the Catalina after being inspired by the amphibious Duck. It's the PBY-5 Catalina's waist gunner's cockpit view with a Browning .50 cal, a close visual match for the .30 cal the Duck carried. I was wondering if there is any chance of using it instead of the current rear gunner graphic?  Please forgive my ignorance of programing if it won't work or is simply not practical.

The Duck is old, slow and ugly... just like me, but it's been a lot of fun to play with. Thanks guys.

Hi Gio and Skipper and thks for this nice and famous bird!
Tested in 409UP201 the S Duck and found that when spawning on water the ac bounces incontrollably on waves and breaks propellers and engine; no way to recover.
On the other side landing on water is easy as well as t/o from land after having applied airbrakes key (a bit funny the spawning on the floater but who cares?).
Is all this behaviour correct at this stage of development?

Thks again and keep on!

I get the same thing in 4.12, 5.3

I can do taxi to take off with wheels down, on dry land, and after driving the bird onto water, raise the gear, and take off normally. With the gear up, the "S" model is hard to keep straight, on the water, until it's speed gets up above 40 mph.
The "non-S" model works better on water, except for the fact that you can't raise the gear until you get into the air.

I have a civil Duck skinpack up at M4T:  http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1863

I can post the template, too, it's based on one of Gio's skins, so I was going to see if that was cool with you, first.

So glad to see the gear raise and lower, I was wondering if the same could be done with the PBY in the future by some industrious modder.............

Static with gear down would be great for mission building too.....

Cheers and hope all have a Merry Christmas and rip roarin New Year.........

I has two retrackable landing gears - the way should be to do one for hydraulic rising (standard "G") and the second one for manual :)
