Hey BA and CW,

Could you guys hurry the F up! I really need this plane for my new HomeBase map!
(I am, of course, just kidding.)

It's getting REALLY expensive to maintain the Wildcat at the home field...

...and the Catfish down in the Bay.

The Duck could save me a lot of $$$$, and since it's a 2-seater my 7-year old can troll for Bluefish and Striped Bass from the gunner's seat. He's getting too big to sit on my lap in the Catfish cockpit. ;)

By the way, guys, in class you are using TypeSea(Sail)Plane implement or TypeAmphibious?
Just interesting, 'cause want to make some amphibious plane, too :)

Hello Mark, I replied to your request about the gunner a while ago in the school, not sure if it will help but may be worth a try. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thanks. I'm a rookie at maps. It's very primitive, especially the crude and minimal texturing. But it's home. The only possibly unique thing is that it's made from hi resolution DEMS. It's only about 30 miles north to south, but that's all Microdem could handle before hitting the memory wall. I tried the beta 64-bit version of Microdem, but no joy. It couldn't load ELEV_COLORS IL-2 Sturmovik.dbf without locking up. I had big problems with map_h because of that problem and the higher resolution. It increased the heights by at least 3 or 4 times. I finally found a clumsy way around that problem in Gimp. But, if anyone would want the map, they're welcome to it.

Very impressive. I photographed Kermint Weeks' Duck at Tico back in the early 90s, was a  large plane. They could put quite a few rescued crewmen in that pontoon. There were a couple of episodes of the crappy "Blacksheep squadron" in the late 70s that featured a duck with scenes shot in the pontoon cabin area. Is a nice plane.

I really hope the pit problems are overcome... And then added to the Kingfisher.  That's another plane that could use a rear-gunner and arty-spotter mod.... Especially with its ability to launch from battleships.
