OK - I found a way to land and park with this FM (patch10).

1- downgrade engine to magneto 1 on approach. This setting wont be changed unless you restart the engine.
This setting will prevent the autopilot from taking-off.
2- land as usual and, after a short run, turn towards parking spot.
3- as tail start to bounce, engage the autopilot; it will bring the aircraft to full stop, engine running, on magneto1.
4- When stopped, autopilot will bounce the tail slightly; disengage the autopilot to achieve full immobility.
5- You may park there, or taxi to a new place: use 55% power on magneto1, then reduce power to maintain low speed.
( note sometimes brakes are locked; touch brakes to unlock... )
6- If speed becomes too high, the tail will start to bounce again:  repeat the procedure urgently.

Have a nice flight !  :)                                   You may try to view this n-track: https://www.mediafire.com/download/0qiuolokjt9n6m0/DVII_DemoRTB2.zip

Hi DreamK!

Whats the method used for changing these hooks?
Do I edit the 3do\Plane\Fokker_D_VII\hier.him file?
For example the BE2c leaks fuel from the middle of its wing wires, how do I find/identify and move that hook?
How do I know which hook(s) causes the D.VII's lowrider behaviour?

Cheers
Istvan

Istvan Hi! You must edit the xyz coordonates (the 3 last numbers in the corresponding line in the [HookLoc] paragraph) in the mesh to which the hooks are attached - for instance the gear hooks are generally attached to meshes GearR2_D0 GearL2_D0 and GearC2_D0
Fuel tanks are collisions not hooks and are best dealt with at the level of the 3d model and then re-exported, instead of trying to manually edit the mesh.

I finally got around to solve this problem, it was in GearC2_D0.msh, new hook coordinates fixed it:

[Hooks]
_ClipCGear <BASE>

[HookLoc]
//1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 -0.00528 0.1678 -0.112
  1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0.0 -0.1 0.0

no more tail bounce for the D.VII :)

Yes, many thanks for the fix..... it works a treat !
Do you think it would work in the bouncing Farman family ?  :D

Cheers

The same fix doesnt work for an another plane. I dont own 3ds max so I can only adjust hooks by trial and error which is very difficult to do with invisible things like a gear hook. So i started to think and figured out a good trick: I place the wingtip smoke hook instead of the gear hook in the problematic mesh that way you can see the position while adjusting. I'm gonna see what I can do for the Farmans.

Is it just me, or does this beauty climb like a brick?
