How not to hunt tanks in an IL-2 part 3. Pulling out of the dive (click for full size image):

Note the small gap between the windshield frame and the pilot's sliding canopy.
This is one of the really nice features in IL-2 Great Battles Series: Gravity on all parts.
In this particular case, the canopy was open all the time, but when I dove down the canopy slid forward, if only just before the position where the handle would have locked it, so pulling out of the dive makes it slide open again.
Really nice detail!

Cheers!

Il 2 is excellent when you flown it 567 hours you stop doing that half the time, the rest I am afraid will end in a tree

I think it's funny. I know not to do it, from many attempts where it happened before. I know that IL-2 needs some time to stabilize on the dive and I know that while it pulls out quite nicely, it's better to leave enough room to stay reasonable gentle on the stick. Yet then there's the tempting situation where, when you'd normally just pull out, the target is perfectly aligned in your gunsight, and then instead of goind around for another run, you take that extra split-seconds to place your shot and then... well then you get the screenshot series depicted here 8)

An ugly fat Henschel as intermezzo (click for full size image).
Flies like a filled bathtub, absolutely doesn't compare to an IL-2. It scares me to think of the "A" version of that plane, which just had 930 HP instead of the 1400 HP of this B-2 version.
