DBW standard Gunsight reticle

Some of the standard gunsight reticules are very cluttered and this makes it very difficult to target through with old cataract restricted eyes.

can a dimmer mod be fashioned to cut down on most of the gunsights lighting...kinda like is in the 1946 original v412.2 version only for DBW?
