After downloading this mega patch starting from a fresh copy of il2 4.07 to 4.12.2m my quick mission builder just freezes when i go to click on it any ideas?

Dumb question probably, buuuuuut......


I have been running 4.12.2m for quite some time.....like since it came out. It also has HSFX on top of it, and I use the JSGME switcher like a good boy. Is my 4.12.2m the same as this megapatch, or is there stuff in this one that I don't have in the patches that brought me to my current 4.12.2m? I am asking because I just saw the VP modpack posted on M4T and I am interested in running it!!

I cannot start from a clean install off the disc because my disc is damaged. However I do have a clean 4.09m.  Which part of this mega patch do I start with to complete my upgrade to 4.12.2?

Or do I start with part 1 and overwrite everything?

Seems like I failed my attempt to return to modded IL-2 after 3 years of being virtually grounded:

Made an installation of 4.09m - everything worked fine
Installed Mega Patch above it - 95% CTD

Spent two hours to try to fix my issue by myself (changed folders, tried different launch variants etc.) so I had no options but to post my question here but here came another problem... My logfile is empty and I've found no way to revive it.

Any ideas what's wrong with me? (except bad English I guess )

What format IL-2 1946 do you have and install ?
DVD-ROM ? (and when you bought it .... 2012 or older .... newer .... )
Steam ? gog ? or other download seller ?

And in which drive and folder do you install the game ?
Not under c:\Program Files (x86)\ ?
