Halberstadt D.II , the missing ring between E.III and D.III
« on: December 30, 2013, 04:15:39 PM »

Reading about aerial warfare in the Eagle of Lille times I noticed that , after the Fokker scrouge was halted , one of the best fighter before that the new Albatross D.III led to the Bloody April was the Halberstadt D.II

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halberstadt_D.II

It was supplied in two or three planes each German Army Air Detachment in the same way the older Eindecker and in the same way grouped to form the first Staffel....

Moreover a Halberstadt was one of the mount of the Red Baron....

100 % agree with this request! many of our red side ww1 fighters are missing this as their blue side opponent! a cool design that served well and extensively. I have been meaning to make this request myself, but have been busy. Needs more info thoughts be a proper request..

I'd like to see it in the game too. It's a very important early fighter.

cheers

It looks so fragile... as if it would break apart by the slightest movement...

The one in Red Baron 3D weren't particularly fragile.

A little bump because after the later and wonderful WWI modded planes released , surely an early age plane like this became even more needed to cover the actions between the end of the Fokker Scrouge in 1916 and the Bloody April of 1917....infact we haven't any aircraft model to set for blue side in this acr of time!

The only partial solution could be captured Neuport but even if few were historically used , them are anyway unuseful to fill the gap because germans devloped the transition from single or very little units to the JASTA organization....
