Has anyone done a complete study of the java code related to how draw distance is controlled?  Using eclipse and complete code searches, a picture of how the code is programmed to draw objects can be determined.  Seems someone must have done this, though curious if anyone has?  Are there any findings which may help identify given variables/methods/controllers for items such as trees, buildings, bridges, etc?

the study is on-going - i don't think there is any one person who is able to do a complete code study - given that we are limited to one lifetime, lol
meanwhile, we can only hope that the more people get involved with this sort of project, the sooner we might find a solution...

Ok, looking into it.  Using hsfx 7 Java code as source.

Luckily there are easily identified class/method paths to follow.  Only have to id the hook for draw distance respective the buildings and/or trees.  Though given this elusive wishlist item, perhaps easier said than done?!

Hi WindWpn,

If it helps - I've been changing promising-looking parameters in the following classes (in 4.11) but to no avail:

RangeRandom (Il2/ai)
Landscape (Il2/Engine)

Given that it's never been solved, maybe it's in dll's

Regards,
