works great in DBW/newTFM;
Barber, check if you have the correct entries in the air.ini and also the correct file structure in your HE-177 folder;
I had a 70% crash myself when trying to install;
redownloaded, unpacked, copied everything into place and then it worked...
should look something like AIR_He177_RC1/3do/plane (cockpit).....
maybe the cockpit is not in place correctly; also, if you had the old HE-177 mod from another modding site, make sure to delete it completely, and just to make sure, delete the entries in the ini files and the properties files as well before applying this mod;
this one for example has way more loadout options....

Installed in my SAS ModAct3.6 (410.1), SaS ModAct4 (411) and SASModAct5.30(412.2), in all setups, no problems, only in 410.1, I don't get the bombing sight...

I've just re-checked in 4.10.1 + Modact 3 and DBW 1.71 and in both cases the bombsight appears after the usual waiting time.
Must be something special in your game installation cgagan, I'm sorry.

Best regards - Mike

Thanks, this time it's the right logfile and I can reproduce the very same error when I manually remove/rename the file "#DBW/He 177/3DO/Cockpit/He-177A-3/skin1o.tgb".
Please check the presence of that file. It's called "skin1o.tgb" (not "skin1o.tga", even though that doesn't matter much) and is present in the ""#DBW/He 177/3DO/Cockpit/He-177A-3/" folder. If not, please re-install the mod.

Best regards - Mike

Hi
Thanks for the quick answer. The file was there allright but I re-installed the mod, no cockpit.
I also checked that not any old lines are present.
Thanks anyway, it´s good job you done with this plane.

Cheers

Just out of curiosity: What happens when you rename the file to "skin1o.tga"?

Hi
That was the solution to this problem. Now it works in both mods( DBW and 412.2+5.30)
Thanks again, Mike.

Renaming the texture to skin1o.tga helps when there's just skin1o.tgb available and conf.ini settings (TexLarge=0) don't allow loading of .tgb textures. There should always be a .tga version of texture to avoid such bugs for users of TexLarge=0. However, I really recommend changing TexLarge=0 to TexLarge=1 in conf.ini to enable higher skin resolution for planes if your PC isn't too weak for that.

Anyway, renaming that .tgb texture to .tga texture or adding lower resolution .tga texture to this mod as a better fix for this bug would still be good for those using more than 10 years old hardware or unnecessarily low graphics settings.

Thanks for the heads up Birdman, I've been wondering where this glitch came from but forgot about the texture size option in conf.ini.
The final version will have a low-res texture for those low-res users then ;)

Sorry Mike, my mistake! I forgot to assign the proper keys to "toggle gunsight" in my controls. I haven't played SASModAct3.6 for ages, and this is what you get with multiple installations (and an ageing brain...)
