Yes - I remembered the Addon.

Unless I have misunderstood something I put the folder "He 0177 addons for 409" in the Mods folder.
That is correct?

A dumb question :   were is the X4 key  ?  can't seem to find one on my keyboard  !!
Just read the readme of the game!
There are long, long time, to the old days when Oleg broadcast new patches, he gave a readme file in English and French (and perhaps in other languages).
In the "Readme_404_to_407_xx.rtf" file found useful and necessary expliquations for many things: V1 - X-4 - SPB - etc ...

Unfortunately for you I kept only the French version ... but with the help of Google Translator you do not have a problem!

Quote
X-4 Rocket

Thanks for this plane !
It works in HSFX 7.01 .

Could you please tell what are the differencies between ExtRange , LongRange and MaxRange versions of some weapons ?

Extended Range means that the front two bomb bays are occupied by auxiliary fuel tanks of 790 litres each, this means you've got a total of additional 1580l fuel.
Long Range is the same but for the front four bomb bays, so you get additionally 3160l fuel in your belly.
Max Rang is all bomb bays occupied by auxiliary tanks, this gives you an additional 4740l fuel in total.

On the A-3 model you can dump the aux tanks once you opened your bomb bay doors.
On the A-5 model, since the bay doors are locked, there's no way to drop the aux tanks.

Best regards - Mike

At least you have much more reliable engines in the A5 model...there are accounts of 177s reaching nearly 700kmh in flat dives to escape the attention of prowling fighters...

Not sure about the reliability, but the flat dive thing is well accounted here:

"While Steinbock was unsuccessful, the He 177 did achieve some successes. They typically carried two 1,800 kg (3,970 lb) and two 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) bombs. Climbing to 7,000 m (22,965 ft) while still over German territory, the He 177s approached the target in a shallow dive, each aircraft throttled back, the pilot putting his aircraft into a gliding descent to take it across the bomb release-point at about 4,500 m (14,760 ft). After releasing the bombs the pilot re-opened the throttles, but continued the descent at approximately 200 m (656 ft) per minute. The bombers typically re-entered German airspace at an altitude of 750 m (2,460 ft), and headed back to base. By such means, the He 177s were able to keep up speeds of about 600 to 700 km/h (370 to 430 mph) during their withdrawal phase. The higher speed and constant change of altitude made interceptions difficult, increasing the survivability of the aircraft, but decreased accuracy. "

Thanks !

I noticed another issue : there can be a conflict with the Ju-188 .
It depends on the install .
He-177 and Ju-188 ( + bombsight fix for 4.12.2 ) works together in ModAct 5.30 .

But when I put them together in HSFX 7.01 , I get  a 70 % CTD ...
( He-177 alone works in HSFX 7.01 , and Ju-188 alone works also in HSFX 7.01 )

Any idea of the reason of this , please ?
