A very nice prototype fighter from Hungary designed by Repülö Müszaki Intézet (Aviation Technological Institute). It was designed to fight successfully against bombers and fighters as well. Unfortunatelly not much information about it, the mixed material (wooden-metal) prototype was destroyed during an American bombing raid, only drawings remain for the posterity. This was a twin boom push-pull design, something like a lovechild of a Saab J-21 and a Do-335. The Hungarian Balaton Modell made it in 1:72 scale.

It would driven by two DB605 rated 1475HP and would be armed with 1-1 30mm MK108 in the wings and 2x8mm Gebauer engine-driven machine guns in the nose (this what Hungarian source says).

Fokker had a similar configuration fighter under construction for the Dutch Air Force. It was gobbled up by the unprovoked German assault in May 1940

yes, indeed, but like all push/pull configs, cooling problems, which is sad, because it was a potent aircraft, only underpowered and to weak armament

Looks too flimsy and weak.
It will never fly.

Most likely it will need some rocket boosters on the wings for take-off.

What do you base your analysis on? I don't see any outstanding structural issues. And why would it require rocket-assisted take-off? Surely it has enough thrust at low speeds from those two DB605 engines... twice the power of a late 109, it should have quite good acceleration.

The only potential issue I see with this design is high wing loading (depending on total wing area) and probably very short range. It looks like the fuselage would have used the 109 design, so there would be space for one fuel tank on the fuselage behind and below the pilot, but more fuel tanks would be absolutely necessary for any kind of extended performance - most likely in the wings. Even so, two DB605 engines is a hungry combination... but a lot would depend on things like wing lift/drag ratio, overall drag of the aircraft, etc. etc.

Even so, it would be an interesting imaginary plane at least.

Chances of surviving a "bail out" situation are practically zero though  ;)

Well there are ways around that. It could have a rear prop jettison mechanism tied to emergency canopy release, or even a proper ejection seat... Who knows what those wacky Hungarians would have come up with!

Hehe.  :D

Haven't seen any Hungarian sources claiming it has (or could have  ;)) ever flown. BTW, a "real franken", based on the 109 G14/10 produced in Hungary. The tail section reminds of the Fw 189.

According to specs, it (should have) had a structural weight of 2850. This is 500 kg more than the 109 it is based on, but also the wingspan is more (11.8 compared to the near 10m of the 109), so that wing loading should have been largely the same.

On the other hand, it weighs "only" 500 kg more while it has an extra DB 605 built in, which in itself weighs nearly 800 kg (together with the additional Mk-108). Those 250-300 excess kgs cannot be spared on the tail section IMO, or if they can, the tail section must be very fragile (remember, it was designed for high speed attacks).

I can't believe that the front gear could be ever made really and fully retractable without redesigning the fuselage.

And I can't imagine where to put the fuel... The given range of 1000 km seems completely illusory.

It seems to me a concept plan rather than an elaborate design.

If the Saab J-21 could fly, this should as well. The escape from the damaged plane should use the propeller jettison mechanism like on Do-335. I don't know about Hungarian ejection seat of that time.
