Bomb carrying Dragon Rapide & Trimotor
« on: February 02, 2014, 03:38:12 AM »

As per the previous thread of mine: both the Trimotor and the Dragon Rapide were used as improvised bombers in the opening phases of the SCW. And it would make these aircraft more useful if they were also given the possibility of carrying bombs. To be precise: it doesn't require any new slot or 3d rework, just an additional loadout.

But, if someone wants to get wild and crazy, some "combat" Dragon Rapides also had one or two fixed MG in the nose of the aircraft, fired by the pilot. Some even had a back MG position :-) And having a Trimotor with the back MG position from the Ju-52 (and that was taken away when the "Tante Ju" was turned into the Trimotor) would be nice! Yes, I know that it was the Fokker Trimotor that was given an MG position, but in the game they are interchangable IMHO  ;)

I would love to see some of these "rough and ready" bomber conversions. +1 from me! :)

One famous incident was in July 1936 when two British MI6 intelligence agents, Cecil Bebb and Major Hugh Pollard, flew Francisco Franco in Dragon Rapide G-ACYR from the Canary Islands to Spanish Morocco, at the start of the military rebellion which began the Spanish Civil War.[2] It is on display in the Museo del Aire, Madrid.
