Yea, that is what I liked in AF.  Take off from Italy under clear skies and then hit nasty weather near target and would have to adjust.  I remember there was also a utility that someone produced that actually displayed a radar/sat picture of the weather over the theater where you could see weather front positions and intensity of conditions.  Excellent resource to track weather alongside campaign progress timeline.  Don't remember who created that one, but it was pretty impressive!  I believe it was called WeatherAF?
