Hi folks, at the momment im reading about the story of NJG/2 opperations over britain during 1940-1941 then again in 44-45 and thought it would be a fantastic campaign. It was a terrific idea, to launch the squadrons in 3 phases, group 1 to catch the bombers on take off, group 2 to catch the bombers over the Channel, group 3 to catch the bombers at their most vunerable when landing. I dont know if Cannons map of Britain could be used for this, but thanks to the modders out there we already have the main Aircraft used in this period, i.e German Nightfighters ( JU-88c, DO-17, ME-410) and the brits ( Wellington, lanc, Blenheim, Beaufighter, Battle, Mossie)...The tactic of long range Nightfighers over Britain was a success and so it came as a total shock to the Nightfighter crews, when Hitler ordered the end to the practice (because he wanted aircraft to be shot down over Germany!) By the time the Luftwaffe returned to the tactic in 1943, Britains air defence had improved beyond measure with radar interception....Which was a totally different game. Well if ive given anyone out there any ideas about how we could bring this to IL-2 I think it could be an incredable campaign to play.
