P-38 F1/G15/J MTO/PTO QMB Pro Missions
« on: March 03, 2014, 02:24:57 PM »

Hey Fellow Pilots,
Just for your amusement more P-38 missions.  Most are 8vs8 missions and some are bomber intercepts.  Palm Day Sunday mission is a Supply aircraft intercept.  Of course they are protected by fighters.  The real Palm Day Sunday was done by P-40s but I am on a P-38 Kick ;D.  Look out for them nasty gunners.
Load these on to your Main Folder/Quicks folder.  (NOT the Missions QMB Pro ect..)

Hey, just looking through mission files and saw your post. It is true that the Palm Sunday Massacre was a P-40 show, however there was  a hayday in similar fashion by P-38's, and I believe some B-25's caught a pile of transports on another day as well.

The 1st FG attacked a large formation of Luftwaffa A/C over Cape Bon on April 5th, 1943. The 82nd FG joined in and roughly 25 German A/C were destroyed. Then on April 10th 82nd FG P-38's escorted B-25's enroute to their main objective when they spotted another large formation of Germans. The escorts were going to hold short and remain with the bombers, but the bombers broke off and attacked the transports, at which time the escorts also joined in, resulting in another 25 claimed kills.
