Mapping & markings
« on: March 03, 2014, 11:50:38 PM »

Hi! Could someone, please, tell me what file(s) in folder 3do/plane/*plane name* is responsible for mapping & markings on the plane?

Its more complex, some parts of the 3d model of the aircraft:fusealge, tail, keel, rudder, wings has applied additional faces knewn as overlays, they are parts of the 3d model and mapped same way as rest of the model, they are displaying: markings, code letters, squadron insignia, nosearts.Graphic files for overlays in game are loaded via mat files and those are referenced via class file, they tell game what graphic file goes where.

Sample of how its done
