Night Hunting
« on: March 10, 2014, 12:50:24 PM »

Hello again,

I have a problem with flying at night. Occasionally, my dynamic campaigns will give me a night mission, and I often attempt to fly them, with disastrous results. It is pitch black. Sometimes, I might be able to land in such conditions, but attacking targets is out of the question (such as in the stock included Single Mission "Ghosts of Dusk" for the Ta-152).

Is attacking targets at night possible? I even tried adjusting my monitor settings to maximum brightness and contrast, but it was no help. What are some tips for flying in the darkness against targets?

Regards,
Zachary

In the stock game, it's practically impossible.  There is no air to air radar, no ground control vectoring, no depth perception for aircraft moving against clouds or the ground, no glints of moonlight, and no exhaust stack flares.

I've had some success with night intercept missions using the C3 and A2A radar objects, but those have been hand-built missions, and it takes some suspension of disbelief.
