SC 1000 and SC 2000 Issues?
« on: March 15, 2014, 01:12:35 PM »

Hello again,

In Il-2, for bombers, there is are a few bombs called SC1000 and SC2000. I'd heard that there is some kind of problem with the bomb, and I might've experienced it firsthand yesterday.

I was flying a Pe-8 and attempting to level-bomb tanks. I hit pretty close—the surrounding buildings were all destroyed—but in multiple passes with unlimited ammunition, I could not destroy the tanks. Only buildings. I was able to destroy vehicles, aircraft, and AAA... is it true that there is a problem with the SC1000 and 2000? Or was I just going up against some very heavily-armored tanks? I noticed my wingmates also cannot destroy bridges.

I want to know, because I am playing as the Pe-8 in an IL2 DCG campaign and I want to know if I should be changing my loadout or not.

this may be occuring, beacuse bomb explosion behaviour was changed so that if it doesnt do an direct hit, its power will be greatly reduced(of course there might be an bug too). for me, i can olny say that ive never had such bug

OK, I see. I never did manage to directly hit the tanks because the non-Norden bombsights are so difficult to use when level bombing.

As an update, I wanted to add that it's true that the bombs must explode very close to tanks. Although, I was only able to manage this by flying a level bomber like a fighter-bomber.

It's all that DCG gives me for every mission. Because of the dynamic nature of DCG campaigns, I often go off to bomb other targets if I'm feeling brave. Tanks are the most important, because DCG uses them to recalculate where the front lines are.

You can change payload of an aircraft in the DCG panel "Aircraft Class Settings"!
Changes are active from the next created mission!
