Soo i took my time to learn 3d modelling and i feel now is the time to make my(well half) first mod.
So here is the thing. There is an already existing(in il2) aircraft which flight model and performance characteristics more or less match my choosen aircraft(its a secret but no one made an aircraft like this for il 2 as far as i know) so what i want to do is make a complete new model for the outside as well as for the cockpit of that aircraft(so its not a franken). If i delete all the files thats related to the 3d model(outer and cockpit) and i recreate it from scratch, could it work this way?
Also i know how to model(more or less
) but i dont know how to model so i will be able to put it in the game. As i seen the things in 3do folders the aircrafts parts should be separete objects in 3ds max like wing(left and right) fuselage controll surfaces engines etc. right?
It would be also good to know how to make the retractable landing gear, the flaps the control surfaces work but these things later. Frist clear the basics.
Well thats it for now but if a modder would help with a few answers it would really be a kickstart to the project
Ps.: oooh i also know that neither the outside model nor the cockpit should have more than 3000 polys each. Is that correct?
