Stainless,
the current il2modder.zip has the sources, not the compiled version!

Fixed

Sorry guys, I'm not used to publishing windows apps. Normally I publish for the XBOX or for mobile devices.

I'm learning the hoops you have to jump through and you guys are my test subjects.

Hopefully when I do get it right the app is worth the effort

Stainless,
it installs and it looks like it is working.

 :D ;D  :D ;) :)

I haven't beenable to load any models yet though. Always some error to report. Either missing TGAs or something else. (with null.tga it says format is wrong....  ?)

Maybe you can put up a model that should load so we can know wether it is the install or the model?

Invalid textures are usually 8 bit tga files.

I haven't added support for that yet, can't find any good documentation that matches what I see in the files.

At the moment I just convert them to 24 bit tga's and they load

I'm still testing meshes and I keep finding problems, it seems the exporters all have little issues and I have to handle them.

I am in the middle of writing a scanner that can report problems in a mesh, one of the exporters puts a duff triangle in most files, the first triangle in the face list is defined as 0 0 0.000001

In the screen shots on my website you can see files that I have loaded, maybe start with one of those

Anyone trying to use this app, please post links to any meshes that don't load so I can look at them.

I'm not interested in missing textures, nothing I can do about that... maybe I'll just load a null texture so at least you can see something.

However anything else I need to look at.

I've just tried loading the Bu-181

It has a couple of issues, firstly the shadow mesh is named sf instead of Sh. I've changed my code to handle this.

Secondly the HIM tries to load a mesh launcher_l.msh which doesn't exist.

Are there some standard meshes that HIM's can load?

I think I had to tweak something to get the corsair to load

I'll have a look at one of the variants and see if it loads

The IAR 80 B loaded first time for me

The corsair worked first time for me.

I have just uploaded a new version, this one handles the missing texture issue by creating a 1 by 1 white texture.

It also displays a list of missing textures so you know what is going on.

I'm going to have a look at 8 bit TGA files so I can do cockpits

I am trying to load some planes and I often get a message saying:

The character entry sequence has the wrong format.

(in German: Die Eingabezeichenfolge hat das falsche Format)

Of any help?
