That would explain why our reality seems so pixelated to me when I take a look out of the window. Thanks for the explanation :D

I'm going on holiday next week, just in case they lose my plane I've published what I have done so far

http://stainlessbeer.weebly.com/downloads.html

It's not finished as everyone who has read this thread should know by now, but at least I have kept my promise and made it available.

Might be worthwhile starting a new thread for bug reports and links to mods that don't load.

Thank you very much.
Chrome users take care, your download of this tool might be treated as "malware" but it isn't:
https://www.virustotal.com/de/file/465e07a90bb55a7f6b4e25962c81f2c6c357eaaa09fc987fa912b80b4c1b1bb8/analysis/
In such case please go to the download folder, look for a file with extension ".crdownload" and rename it to "il2modder.zip", that way you can get access to the tool again.

Thank you very much! Is there any way to run this under Windows 8 Pro 64-bit?

Should have worked out of the box, but I don't (and won't) use windows 8.

I'll test on my x64 windows 7 machine and see if it runs on that.

Uhh, is there any technical reason not to use win8?
I use Start8, a utility that makes it work just like any other win version (no metro interface if I don't want to).
Also, I don't use a microsoft account. Just a normal user account.

There must be other technical differences because the il2modder program does not work.
I did install Visual C# 2010 express and XNA 4 btw.

Hi Stainless, and first, thanks for your great work. ;)

I have tried to install your application, and it showed this message:

To fix it I have installed this:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914

But  your  program still does not work, I use W 7 Pro 64 bit.
Do you  know what can I  be doing wrong?.

Thanks.

ton.

can't think of any specific technical reason, but can offer a list of practical reasons, lol  ;)
imho, MS are losing themselves up their own a-holes with the ridiculously increasing rate of releasing a new 'greatest OS ever' every year or two, and making perfectly good older OS's redundant before their time (which most of the world still uses - i mean, really, being expected to install a new OS every 5 minutes is a drag, and a waste of time)
it took me long enough to decide to move from XP to 7, and while i'm still fully exploring the features of Win 7, i'm expected to dump it for a new one..?
sorry, that seems a bit sad-masochistic to me.
i may sound like i'm speaking for myself here, but i know for a fact that the majority of Windoze users feel the same way.
anti-MS rant off. :D

Well, I bought a laptop with windows 8 preinstalled. So far there's not been anything problematic, and no reason to downgrade. I'm not hung up on any OS, as long as it works.
And I think ton414 is having the same problem as me, so itisnot win 8 specific.

i'm not suggesting anyone downgrade, just that if you're happy with the OS you have, don't change for the sake of change. ;)
anyway, enough about OS's - back on topic, as this is potentially a greatly innovative process happening in this thread :D
