I discovered this excellent plane through Maico's post & I thought it deserved an FSX Mission !
Just to be able to do "More than just flying" with this beauty !.... (I tend to like "ugly" planes...)
In case you want to try this mission, you may find the link download & other info about this
FSX Mission, at the description of the following video on YouTube :

FSX is not a combat sim, but has many great features (apart of the excellent environment...).
Purpose is not to convert it in a combat sim, but be able to do much more than just flying with
Military planes in FSX. Especially at the "Ground Pounding" area, there are many possibilities (keeping
in mind the limitations of a civilian training sim : no damage model, etc).

Active Sky Next is an incredible program doing things I never knew were even possible.  I use it to check the weather.  I Just take a BAC Lightning up to 5k meters and see how its cloudy above Denmark from here :o
I thinks FSX is the red head at the bar your friends warn you about.  It can be fun but its a lot of work to get it where you want.  HOWEVER, if you want to fly FSX you must have ASN.  It is the Dogs Nuts.  You will be playing in the clouds.  Its expensive but does what it says on the box.  I leave you with this.

Now, any of you guys have Prepar3d by Lockheed Martin? It is the FSX core code but further developed by LM. Most FSX addons work in it. The latest version 2.2 offers cloud shadows which were not there in FSX (although existed in Il-2 for long time  ;D). Check this out:

In the second one the plane comes under the cloud and the shadow is cast upon it. Very immersive! ASN also works in it too creating real weather.

The shadowing system is excellent in P3D:

The following video shows the use of two FSX portovers in P3D, the excellent "NAVY" Mustang by Warbirdsim and a WWII carrier. The water surface in P3D has 3d waves so the wake effects in ships are messed up. Check out the dynamic shadows in the cockpit, how I messed up the approach and missed the wire and how the story ended up.

And this is a dawn flight of a SuperCub over my "Fantasy of Flight" scenery:
