Riptide, i also found the same as you when i installed it - 2 Engine Mod folders, two Statics folders, and there was something else - i think two Fairey Battle folders, iirc.
i simply used trial and error to delete the extra ones, don't recall exactly which now, sorry.
as long as you make a backup of the affected folders before, then it's a relatively quick and painless exercise.
my guess is it's due to a simple typo somewhere along the way, or something to that effect... ;)

@ moepkid, yes, the speech packs do take a long time, this is due to the multitude of small files involved.
even when making a backup copy of a stock vanilla game in Windows, if you watch the transfer, you will see how it slows down when getting to the speech samples files.
more of a Windows issue, than a modding one, is my conclusion.
all it requires is patience on your part. watch a movie, maybe two, lol, while this is happening ;)

You can skip the jsgme activation if you want.
Just make a temp folder and extract each TFM412 part there in the proper order.
After you finished move the stuff into your game folder.
I always do it like this in order to be able to see what I'm actually installing.

O.K. guys, I got TFM to fly :)! The problem was that the War Over Italy Map is MIA. So, I revised the all.ini. Then, I activated the Flyable A.I. Aircraft mod. That's all that was needed to get TFM to work.

Note that I did not make any changes to the directories I referred to in my first post. As for the two Engine Mod directories, one of them has only three files in it and the other looks like the actual mod. So, I think directory with only three files is just a patch for the Engine Mod.

There is one other thing I would like a little advice on. In the FMB map menu, some the names of some maps are nearly completely off the screen. Among those maps are the Solomon Islands which are among my favorite maps. I know that I could make some changes to the all.ini file. However, is there any way I could adjust the menu's display so that all the maps show up on the screen without changing the all.ini?

In any case, I am happy :) and ready to explore TFM. It does include some mods I have not used before. I thank everyone who provided those useful comments and suggests that helped me get TFM off the ground.

Cheers,

You will need mission pro combo for 4.12.2, see here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37662.0.html and scroll down to SAS Featured JSGME Optional Mods. Make sure you take note of everything in that section.
When activated, this will bundle up your maps into theatres of war.

Glad you got everything running without too much further agony.

I noticed that others have had multiple folders in #SAS folder.  I have them also but i don't get a CTD.  In the !0_SAS_Engine_Mod, I have 3 files only. In !0000_Statics_4.12.2  June 26 2014, I have just 2 files. I will check them to see if I have copies in the other folders.

Also everything is fantastic as ever but, I have some internal sounds and no external sounds for the Mig-21s. Fishbed-D, -F, -D export and Mig-21S, MF and BIS. I sometimes get the guns outside view but no engines etc. Is it possible that there are sounds missing or associations? If a Logfile is required let me know.

Cheers

Update: Got sounds to work. Could someone tell me which sound association is used for the FlyBy Sounds with the jets? Would like to add my own with a little more power.

Many Thanks
