@Bergkamp, does your Crimea and/or Crimea_Summer work? They seem to refer to the same loadini! Wouldn´t that make a  conflict?

They both work without conflict. However, my Crimea map is a Cyberolas repaint with extra BumpH files which seems to overwrite the Crimea Summer stock map which I hadn't noticed before.

I have a clean TFM412 install (no added mods) and indeed there are only 3 load.ini entries. I will amend my reply to Marco.

Hi Bergkamp, many thanks for your reply. Well, I checked as you suggested:

In the #SAS/MAPMODS/MAPS I have just one Crimea folder and within that only 4 files:
  • ed_m01.tga
    ed_m02.tga
    ed_m03.tga
    load.ini

In my All.ini file I have the three lines like yours:

  • Crimea_Summer        Crimea/load.ini
    Crimea_Winter           Crimea/LAL_crimeawinter.ini
    Crimea_Mud              Crimea/LAL_crimeamud.ini

What you said: “In my MapMod folder I have one folder for Crimea and within that 13 sub files (static/load/tga/text). In my _tex folder there is a folder "EAST" and another sub folder "Crimea" with its various TGA files.” I have also, but in my DBW 1.71+TFM in another side of my pc.

I have also the Cyberolas crimea map and it is the same as you have, 13 files, east folder in _Tex folder, etc...
So, are you sure you have not merged the files from TFM-412 and DBW in a single Crimea folder? Or have you replaced the entire crimea map with the DBW ones?

I checked again the #TFM412-01_MAPMODS pack and it contains the same files I have in my fresh TFM-412, the 4 files in the (only) crimea folder and the 3 lines in the all.ini file.

To complete informations I have deselect bigclouds by Manysh but it seem no improvements or deteriorations I noticed.

Hi guys, I tried to test in another way for crimea map. I copied the whole MAPMODS folder on the desktop, then, as said by Bergkamp, I copied the "east" folder from DBW1.71 in the _Tex folder in TFM412, the crimea map from DBW in the TFM412's mapmods folder and add the line of DBW all.ini in the TFM412 all.ini....and it doesn't works...

I am not a big modder and my knowledges are very basic, but I suppose there is a bug in the #TFM412-01_MAPMODS pack. Maybe only by chance I discovered this trouble with Crimea map; I selected this map in the first installation of IL-2 1946 4.07m and and I kept it for all additions to test the game. I am surprised me only have this troubles with this map. The Crimea's maps set works fine in my DBW 1.71.
As I said, my modding knowledge are basic, so I do not know how to go on to correct these troubles.

You are not alone! After days of reading of your troubles with the Crimea map, i decided to check my install. I have exactly the same problem with the Crimea summer map. The other two, no problem. I did not install the Cyberolas map, so that can't be the source of the problem. I installed over a clean Modact, but my interest was in the BOB campaign, so I never checked any other maps.

This is a strange error with the Crimea map, in the logfile it says:
Can't open file 'MAPS/_Tex/land/summer/SL_fields_8.tga
In theory both the load ini and the textures should come from an sfs file which you installed and its originally part of UP3, cant say which sfs file exactly. Is there anybody at all with a working Crimea map in TFM-412?
(I dont have TFM-412 so I probably wont be able to fix this one.)

I got it working sometime ago and every map ever made I have and all are working on 412.2/new tfm the next level/jet mod/sasmod act latest one/engine mod latest one.

For those with the Crimea problem, here is a solution:

Find this entry in the Crimea load.ini:

LowLand2 = land/summer/SL_fields_8.tga //rom_fields_LowLand3.tga

Change it to this: (Backup your load.ini first!)

LowLand2 = land/summer/rom_fields_LowLand3.tga

Thanks to VP for pointing toward a solution. This may not be the intended way for this map to work, but this solution will work until the REAL solution is found.

@Cloyd: many thanks mate!!  :) :) now with your suggested change Crimea map works both QMB and FMB! Hurrà! Just for my curiosity: why you said this is not the REAL solution? Now my crimea map works...

@BravoFxTrt: the problem is with Crimea map stock, not with Cyberolas' Crimea map. In my DBW also Cyberolas' Crimea map works fine.

@Vpmedia: I tried to find SL_fields_8.tga file but it doesn't exist in the specific folder MAPS/_Tex/land/summer/sl. IMHO this is the main problem, the game tries to load a file that does not exist. I tried to look for the file in my DBW but there is not even there.

I hope that some friend would solve this problem. Do you think now I can go on to install further modpacks?

I have not had any issues with running the Crimea maps, so I hope this helps with anyone having further problems.

Glad you are off and running. you should be ok to continue with installing the other packs. Just make sure your game loads ok every 2 or 3 packs so you can catch any further problems early.
