Hi everybody,
just a simple question (I hope not also stupid): once installed all the TFM412 part in the jgsme folder, is it mandatory to activate them all? Can I jump a part and skip to the next?
i.e. I don't want to activate #TFM412-24_Coldwar2, can I skip to #TFM412-25 or I'll encounter problems?

Thank you

No. You will have to activate them all in order, otherwise you will screw up your .ini's in the STD folder and your game will crash.

I ran into trouble with FMB.  It wont open ANY map.

When I install Modact 5.3 and AI Flyables, do I also install the JSGME mod for 5.3?

Also, can I confirm with you: I have to start with the Vanilla mod, is that right?

I also run into the problem with maps, for me the solution was to apply '#SAS_Water=4 by Carmaster' after #TFM412 mods.

As per first post, you can install the SAS mods you like and you NEED to install AI Flyables via JSGME activation.

This is the list of activated mods in my install:

#SAS_Flyable AI Aircraft
#SAS_Big Clouds by Manysh
#SAS_CTO Mod
#SAS_FX_Small Collection

#SAS_HakenCross Disabler
#SAS_New Mod Wheels by PA_Jeronimo
#SAS_Random Belt Start Pos
#SAS_Forgotten Countries
#SAS_Cowling Engines & Prop by PA_Jeronimo
#TFM412-01_MAPMODS

Device,

Hopefully you have solved your problem, so to avoid me boring you stiff, do not read on.

In the event that you have not resolved your problem, the best advice on here is a methodical approach to installing TFM412 and problem solving. I know it's time consuming getting everything up and running but it will save you a world of pain in the long run. I'm not sure at what stage you are at with your install but before you start extracting the TFM packs, are you happy you have followed these instructions on page 1 of this thread:

Code: [Select]
INSTALL CHECKLIST
1)Clean Il2/1946 4:12.2m install required. - Tested and working.
2)Add SAS Modact V5.3 and AI Flyables.     - Tested and working.
3)Add UP-SFS files from UP3 Packs (see the list below).
up_maps01.sfs
up_maps02.sfs
up_maps03.sfs
up_maps04.sfs
up_maps05.sfs
updbw_mapex_01.sfs
updbw_mapex_02.sfs
updbw_mapex_03.sfs
updbw_mapex_04.sfs
updbw_mapex_05.sfs
updbw_mapex_06.sfs
updbw_mapex_07.sfs
updbw_mapex_08.sfs
up_textures01.sfs
up_textures02.sfs
up_objects01.sfs
up_objects02.sfs
up_objects03.sfs
up_objects04.sfs

One more thing to check. Assuming you started with a totally clean install of v4.12.2 + Modact5.30 _ AI Flyables v5.30, your start screen should  show this text in the bottom left of your screen:

"v4.12.2m with SAS Modactivator 5.30 and SAS Flyable AI Aircrafts v5.30"

If it doesn't, you have problems from the start.  Make sure you unzip the flyables  "red star" and place in your JSGME folder and activate. If the game loads ok, do a quick check in FMB and load a map. If all looks ok, you are set to go.

Make sure you have a vanilla #SAS folder (you can find this on page1, just before mapmod pack1).

Next another time consuming bit. Activate each pack in turn through JSGME and check the game loads ok each time (if you already have them activated, you may have to roll back to the start). Take a look at what mods are included in each pack and check out one or two in game. In pack one for instance, check you have CY6 North Korea map. By activating each pack in turn you will be able to pinpoint at which point your install gave you problems and eliminate the cause at source.

Again, my apologies if you know all of this already but having followed this thread from page1, most problems with this install begin at the beginning, as it were.

Hope I've helped,

Bergkamp.

I'm very new to 1946, have the Steam version 4.1.12m. Per the Readme.txt for ModAct 5.30 and AI Flyable v5.30, I extracted those archives directly into a clean game folder. The sim plays fine, the splash screen says 4.1.12m with SAS Modactivator 5.30 and SAS AI Flyable v5.30. So far so good.

Per the instructions on page 1 of this thread and copied by Bergkamp, I downloaded UP3.0 to acquire the .sfs files listed. I extracted UP3.0 into a non-game folder. I could not find "updbw_mapex_01.sfs" through "updbw_mapex_08.sfs" which I'm guessing are from DBW 1.7x. I copied the other listed .sfs files into the game folder.

At this point I'm stuck, are those 8 files required? Do I have to download that 19 part DBW archive https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,21514.0.html just to find them or is there another archive holding just those .sfs files?

*********ANSWERED MY OWN QUESTION WRT WHERE THOSE 8 FILES ARE*********
Found the "updbw_mapex_0x.sfs" files by downloading the four part torrent of DBW.

The total time is more than 5 hours using the jsgme utility and it is still going on now...up to the Hangar mod now.

The size is more than 35GB!!!  My SSD is merely 125GB.

I just know that I am getting many planes.

BTW, I played with the A-7 and dropped a nuke before.  But the nuke effect is sort of dependent on the angle I view the mushroom.  It comes and goes.  What is the proper way of getting the nuke explosion?  Do I tweak the conf.ini file for that?

Hi Device. I can't quite see the image you posted but your JSGME looks good to me. Don't know much about nukes but there is a discussion on it somewhere in the 119 pages of 412 threads!

Not leaving yourself much wriggle room there on your SSD! I have a clean install version of TFM412 plus a heavily modded version. Plus a 4.12.2+modact 5.30 for testing
and not forgetting my good 'ol DBW-NewTFM(4.10), I think I'm up around 150GB. Doesn't even get close to what some of the guys on here have on their hd.

JSGME is a pain but it's the best if you need to roll back any pack to track any errors in your install.

Hope it's all good now. Happy flying.

Hi guyd I've been trying to load the mods as per instructions using JSGME. However, every time I get to #TFM412-04_IJN my JSGME freezes and gives the message 'not responding'.

I'm using JSGME v 2.6.0.157. Can anybody give me any assistance please???
