Hello guys,

I got a problem while installing the TfM:
After activating Pack 11 (Air-extra) the game crashes while loading ( at 20%).
When i deactivate the pack the game works just fine...

I redownloaded the pack twice with no positiv result.

Any Ideas?  :)

If I was a blackheart I would charge for a complete tfm to 38 and all the extra mods with all maps and planes/trains and etc etc.
Everything works no problems since I dl this from day one of release.

What seems to be the problem with your install and what did you do wrong.
Now I am surprised that you have not seen the famous quote log file before help is offered.
It would help.
Now go to page one and make sure you did not miss anything that was said to do as you installed and tested there was certin steps to take and things to do. plus some where in this thread somebody had the same problem and the answer is surly there somewhere.
On your next post include the log file of your screw up the last fifty lines will do quite nicely.

The only think I can think of is that the files are not being overwritten correctly... are you using JSGME?  Make sure to accept the latest modifications recommended by JSGME (whenever duplicate files are encountered).  Is your installation in the default C drive location?  If so, Windows is notorious for not allowing modifications to that directory structure, very annoying that you as the master of the computer cannot act like the master unless Windows let you... anyway, I digressed...  Make sure you are logged in with Admin privileges, and you run JSGME in Admin mode (right click on JSGME.exe and Run as Admin.)...

Before you launch IL-2, check the content of the air.ini, statics.ini, etc, to see if the latest one is being used.  Also check that the directory structure of pack #11 is being placed in the right locations... a missed directory can throw the whole thing out of whack.

These seem like dumb suggestions, but I have had problems before forgetting the details above, and that is why I no longer install IL-2 in the default Windows Program Files directory... I put it in a root directory, or I install it in a separate drive or partition.

Okay, so I spent all weekend getting halfway through the install with JSGME, decided to manually install the rest of the packs and call it even. I did so, and then I loaded up the game to discover:

-No Squadron markings are showing up for anyone
-Skins are improperly displayed, showing mechanical bits all over the place
-Most maps on QMB have an .ini issue and can't load
-FMB won't load certain maps, like Reno
-A jet at spawned at 600mph came out flipping head-over-heels at an insane speed and blew up, but the screen was covered in white error text while various weapons flickered in and out of visibility and I had to kill the process to get out of it

What should I do? I still have all the packs in the giant JSGME folder that I've been transferring to my hard disk to save space. Should I just do a fresh install and try again, or can I fix this without the reinstall process?

Two Options from experience:))

1>  If you have the time, than start from scratch and follow Monty's directions on page one.  Take your time!!  Use JSGME.  I do not recommend overwriting the files directly.  Much harder to troubleshoot.

2> Wait a few days for CFM (( there has been some debate on whath CFM stands for, I'm going to go with Condensed Full Monty)).  CFM will be just as comprehensivie as all the JSGME files now but will install in far less time and use less HD drive space.  If you follow the posts from Monty, he is probably working on it right now and it should be released very soon.

My 2 cents:  I've noticed a few common problems that I have made myself:)) that are easily fixed.

1>  There are one or two TFM mods that caused a CTD on my CPU also.  But when I installed the next TFM in the sequence all worked fine.  So Try that for some of you guys/gals that are getting the CTDs on the earlier installs of TFM.

2>  I have definitely made this mistake!!   I got a CTD or funky load and I racked my brain and this web board to figure it out.  And I swore on my PT6 that I added no other mods.  Well Guess What?  I did:)) and forgot.  So what I do now is keep a Text file on my desktop that says "TFM LOOK AT THIS YOU IDIOT"  and it's a log of any other mods I added, such as any of PAL awsome mods, and I disable them before I install the next TFM sequence.  I don't always remember to do it hence the "IDIOT" reference.

Hi everyone,
Just going through all these posts.
Please go back and read Simon's CFM posts again.
All of this work will very soon be redundant.
We are all burning the oil every night during the testing phase
Do try to be patient. ;) ;) ;)

Patience is a thing we all learned in the Old Oleg Times, spelling 2 weeks, so nowadays when patience means anything from a few minutes to some days we seem to get the more eager in our expectations!
But after learning to install mods (TFM) with benitomussos Total Moder V3 https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,42295.0.html easy pac I don´t understan why many are still doing it the hard and timeconsuming JSGME way!

Hi RDDR
I know that TFM is being made redundant, What about all the campaigns for TFM, will they still work in the new CFM?
Can't wait for CFM to make it's appearance ;D
Keep up the good work you guy's, and it's ready, when it's ready . ;)

Thanks! Any idea when & where this will be posted ( As Nick Danger said in a Firesign Theater episode "You've saved me a lot of investigative work!' )but unfortunately i just should have waited istead of spending a lot of time getting this terrific TFM completed!
