Well, read the manual through Google translator and as a noob still do not get all the right procedures. Let's see where the mistakes I will commit to install the CFM.
1 puts the sign - in front of the folder # SAS
2 puts the sign - in front of jsgmemods folder.
3 Check your SFS_AUTO folder and remove any SFS files beginning with 'THROUGH JSGME'.
and the 4th is the proper CFM to come, right?
The question is: What do I do with the rest of the folders within the IL2? I leave everything as it is, I can not rule out anything yet? I am concerned about the disk space that will now get bigger. My IL2 will be huge!
Sorry for the ignorance but it's too complicated for my age, should have been retired even as virtual pilot! :P  ;D ;D

Dang Harpia, you sound like me.  How old are you?  Yeah, I kinda get the feeling at times that this is turning into a young guy game, at least this mod stuff is. :(

When all the dust settles your install may be significantly smaller.

Harpia, yes, unless install instructions specify differently, you leave all the other folders alone.

This is speculation on my part so do not do it without official confirmation from the developers of this mod.
It may be possible, once you have everything installed and running properly, to delete the SAS folder that you put a minus sign in front of.

CFM will contain a new SAS folder and the new sfs files will contain most of the things in the old SAS folder
so the old one should be redundant.
The same may be the case with the jsgmemods folder.

My SAS folder with all the TFM content is 37GB, most of which will be contained in the new sfs files.

Confused yet?

Monty has said that the footprint of CFM is much, much smaller than TFM and previous conflicts have been resolved.

Old, how many decades?
I stopped counting in years 3 days ago, 7 sounds way better than 70. :)

Thanks creature.
The way things are going it will probably still be IL2 1946.

SAS modact has 800+ sound related files included in the sas_sound_01.sfs, its probably the DBW soundset.
You can easily use these preset names to adopt your UV3 soundmod to CFM, you only need to rename its presets.
The flyby sounds need java work, everything else can be used from UV3.

Thanks vpmedia. Sadly, those flybys with authentic sound are one of my favorite Il2 pastimes.  ;)

Gave up racing games and shooting for failing to keep up with the fast pace of action and try to keep my heart stent in place. My hd 1 terabyts is with a 57GB of IL2e have not tried the IL2 online. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Harpia:

You have to try IL2 online!!!

Granted its a brutal bunch, they don't call it dogfighting for nuthen:).  There are a lot of good sim pilots out there and it can get quite depressing being someone elses target drone:))  Once you get past the fact that your gonna get shot down all the time (even the best guys get shot down eventually) the sim is a lot more fun and believe it or not you will learn a tremendous amount about dogfighting.  Way more than what you would learn in single player.  Like any other online game you have to find the right crowd to fly with and don't feel like you have to stay with a room once you joined.  If you don't like the way they fly just exit and find another one.  You will get the hang of it and you will learn who you like to fly with.  Remember "traditional" rules don't really count because of respawning, so sim pilots will do things for a kill that they wouldn't normally do if they were to get shot down and it was game over:)  Most rooms try to fly by a certain code if you will, but it doesn't always work out that way.

A good place to start for online play is Hyper Lobby or Xfire.  If you don't know what these are just PM me and I'll get you going.

harpia,
I did my online time from'02 -08, mostly coop ground pounding.
Mostly just got shot down but it was fun at the time with 1000 plus on hyperlobby weekends.

Now I just do offline and there is so much content I will need to make 100 to dent it....I am working on it.

The visual and content quality has changed so much it is actually hard to believe IL2 is 14 years old.

Try to encourage me and download the HSFX one day, the only online game that is currently the game Euro Truck Simulator 2, as I said I am from a generation that did not grow up with video game, I'm still a fish out of water in these online simulators. Perhaps they are in need of an air target and I must be a very good :P :P :P :P ;D

Hopefully CFM will have an online following.  This entire thread seems to be filled with people with the right attitude for online flying and making it fun:))
