Recently I've supplemented the WestFront44 map, one of my favourites, with some other textures, from Cross Channel map, the North Sea map and a few others. The idea was to have the early September 1944 look, just prior to Market Garden, when this area saw some Patton-style blitzkrieg. The result seems quite pleasing, so with consent of GilB57 I'm showing it to you.

I would like to use it, but please re-write the name of the map to some other date, so we can still have the
previous maps by GiLB in the game and not overwrite anything.

Will you exchange the green trees for trees with a September (Autumn) look?
Green trees on this map would not look too much in season.

Nice selection of textures. You have a good eye for nice details.
The original map by GilB is also one of my favorites. It brings a lot more realism to this old game.

I was wondering what type of light-colored airfield skins are you using Lagarto for that airbase on the screenshot?
I have been tweaking the colors and adding some textures to many of my old airfields to make them look a
 little more "earthsy". That one would look nice with a little more gravel and some effects.

Yeah, you're most certainly right. However, airfield textures pop up at various places of the map, so I have to be careful what I apply, for fear of messing up other parts of the map. I'm altering the textures with gamma correction to give them more 'earthy' tinge. I uploaded a different pic in my post above to show what I'm aiming at.

About airfields texs : please take care to avoid a too big contrast between taxiways/parkings and underlying texture ... at that time, armies tried to render them as invisible as possible.
(many french airfields were camouflaged to appear like ordinary landscape

On the continent, they were mostly in bad condition (after 1943) due to heavy bombing.
