Quoting from Wikipedia:
"In March 1945, in conjunction with the Fifth Fleet of the United States Navy, the British Pacific Fleet took part in the Battle of Okinawa, during which the Firefly, in addition to "customary" bomber escort and attack on the anti-aircraft batteries, were intended for low-altitude attack of Japanese airports, search crews of aircraft shot down over the sea and escort for seaplanes rescuing them. The use of the British fleet in the theater of Okinawa ended May 26."
