The Ultimate A6M Skinning kit
New Templates for Japan Cats improved Zero model.

Introduction
It is a great pleasure for me to be able to present to you and the ever popular Il-2 Sturmovik combat flight simulator, the Ultimate A6M Skinning Kit. This pack contains six Templates for the Japan Cat version of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. A Super Pack of templates, all six in chronological order from the earliest A6M Zero model to the very last, designed for all serious Skinner's.

The Templates were designed to be user-friendly. Layers and Group’s are based on modular thinking and can easily be modified to your personal style. Of each Zero model a new improved Void file now exists for those who wish to try and build their own Templates. Read me-files will guide you through of which Zero-variant the Template is meant for. Plus a disclaimer note of what you can and can not do with these Templates.

History
It’s been a while since I have posted or uploaded anything - not since the Christmas and the 56th FG Skins anyway. Well, it is a great pleasure for me to finally present something new, and furthermore, of being able to do so over here at SAS. It could be said that this newest project began actually when I was working together with RDDR on another Skinning project. He happened to mention that he would like to do some Skins for Japan Cats newer Zero model, and that he was concerned that there hadn't been too many new Templates or new Skins available for Japan Cats outstanding new Zero model since its release.

It was then that we both came to an agreement to do something about the ”missing Skins and Templates”. We decided to go for a team effort. RDDR would work with the Skins department. I would occupy the Templates department and provide the necessary Templates. It was clear to us from the beginning that we’d make them all public, both Skins and Templates, for the community to enjoy.

These new Templates now in front of you, and available for public download, would not have happened if it wasn't for the generous help I received from RDDR and SAS in the form of the void file of the Japan Cat version of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero together with some other tech-details. Further assistance was given by Yeager 1946 in the form of invaluable scale drawings of the various Zero versions which pointed out the difference of detail in all aircraft variants. Without these I would have been at loss. And finally, last but not the least, Japan Cat the author of the new Zero model. My deepest gratitude goes to these gentlemen.

My apologies if I have forgotten anything. I’d like to thank all those involved with this project and of course the entire Sturmovik-community of the continuing support and enthusiasm over the years to all of us Skinner's. I hope you enjoy these new Templates. And don't forget to check the new skins for the Zeke by RDDR.

Hi everybody,

Thank you for your kind comments, very much appreciated.

A few more words about the templates. As you can see, I have marked them as v.1.0. They may be updated in the future if needed. It is possible neither of these present templates will be quite suitable for pure bare metal versions. I have not tested them in that regard. You have to experiment with this yourself and see where it takes you. One more Mitsubishi template will become available soon(ish). This template will cover the Nakajima built Float plane version.

Thank you again. There will be more templates.
