Cockpit camera position
« on: May 22, 2014, 12:36:28 PM »

I have now got to the point where I can load cockpits as well as planes.

So I need to set the camera to the correct location.

Anybody know what position the camera is placed at?

hi Stainless, normally, the base or main part of the cockpit (often called body.msh, but can have some other name)
will have some hooks attached to it, they will determine camera position:
(example is from body.msh for B5N pilot cockpìt)

[Hooks]
CAMERA <BASE> <-- viewpoint of pilot (the one you asked for)
CAMERAAIM <BASE> <-- viewpoint when looking through the sight (gunsight view in game)
LAMPHOOK01 <BASE> <-- each of this hooks marks the position of a lamplight in the cockpit
LAMPHOOK02 <BASE>
LAMPHOOK03 <BASE>

[HookLoc] <-- orientation and location of the above listed hooks

Thanks, I can grab the location of a hook very easily.

I love the F4 cockpit by the way.

I am going to extend the scripting system to allow testing of cockpit dials.
