I removed every file from the pack but the four main classfiles and the FM files. same result, load error: null on mission start.

But again, as far as I remember, there's a difference in FM files with versions, right? So I assume your FMs are indeed 4.10 versions?
Thanks for trying to help

Yes, I used the 4.10. We have bad storms here today so I can only use my computer between storms. I'll try to get this fixed as soon as I can.

Ok I did a quick look. I do not use DBW 1916, But I assume is comes with a version of these planes pre installed?

Bombsaway sent me a link to the downloadable versions of the planes. In those versions the classfile references the individual FM file, that contains the flightmodel file called the fmd. Instead of referencing a emd (engine) file from the flightmodel or buttons it is referencing a engine in a pack/file named WWI_Engin_EM .

If you find what mod contains file named WWI_Engin_EM you could simply add it to your mods folder.

The reason you are getting a null error is the flightmodel loads, but it can not find a engine.
To fix someone who has the correct emd extracted can send it to Bombsaway and he can add it into the plane's FM, or if you are lucky and the engines files still contain the same name in the DBW 1916 buttons one can do the following:
Change this:
Engine0Family WWI_Engin:WWI_Engin_EM
Engine0SubModel Argus

To this:
Engine0Family WWI_Engin
Engine0SubModel Argus

This will only work if the engine family and engine subtype have not had their names changed in current version.

Are you using DBW1916? If so then the FM I worked on was from the single download version. If you are using the ones from 1916, download the latest update from there and try adding its hansa and machis and see if that works. I'm sorry your having so much trouble but there has to be a way for you to get them working again.

I already wrote about that ;)
Yes, I use DBW1916 and I investigated in the classfiles thre. They use a FM that's stored in the buttons, it's the same name but no diff FM.

And as I wrote, when I try to install the old files on top, I get the null error since the game does not contain the file CWatson mentioned. That's obviously an ancient file from back when... do you have that file in your install maybe? No Idea where to obtain that.

Another possibility could be to alter the FMs so they reference the EM in the regular buttons, assuming it has the same name still (Which I believe is true since everything else is the same name too). I could test that.
